Nanette Chopin Cook, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Nanette was born October 31, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Sidney and Geraldine Chopin.
On August 2, 1996, she married her husband Leonard Clay Cook. Jr.. Clay and Nanette grew up on the same side of the street, three blocks apart and were both brought into the world by the same doctor.
Nanette was a master quilter and loved to gamble at the Choctaw Reservation. She also enjoyed researching and sharing her knowledge with anyone who would listen.
She is survived by her loving husband Leonard Clay Cook, Jr.; stepsons, Richard Allen Hofauer (Michelle), George Anthony Hofauer (Michelle) and cousin Susan Cover Montague.
She was preceded by her parents, son Richard Lee Gill and beloved cousin Kay Cover Fowler.
Graveside services were held on March 11, 2025, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
