Barbara Bailey attended Terrell Wells Junior High in addition to Harlandale High School. Her 2017 obituary was only recently discovered by Shirley Moore May. The following is that obituary as published by Sunset Funeral Home:
Barbara Blake, age 72, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on August 6, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX to Charles & LaVerne Kunce. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. With the exception of a few years as an office administrator, most of her life was dedicated to her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved “those girls” as she often referred to them. They were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and LaVerne Kunce and her son Dennis Blake.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charlie Blake; daughter, Tracy Kosub; granddaughters Sierra and Allison Kosub; sister Janet Bailey (Kenneth) Waco, Tx; brother Dale Kunce (Diana), numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Barbara's funeral service was held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
